#Talk2Raila: Questions Regarding the Assault of Mrs Karen Kandie by Mr Allassane Ba of #ShelterAfrique

  1. Alassane Ba, a Mauritanian National assaulted a Kenyan female employee, Mrs. Karen Njeri Kandie , working for Shelter Afrique as Finance Director, on 28th June 2011 and has not been apprehended to date. What is making the Kenya Government not act? Is the foreigner above the law? Is the Government concerned with the sovereignty of this country and its responsibility to protect its citizen?

  1. The prime Minister of the Republic of Kenya issued instructions to Foreign Affairs that either the immunity claimed by Mr. Ba be lifted so that the due process of the law can take effect or he be deported. The immunity has not been lifted and he has not been arrested. Why hasnt the Government implemented the Prime Ministers instructions?

  1. The Government is a signatory to International Bill of womens rights: the Convention on the Elimination of All forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW).The Government acceded to this convention in 1984. A Kenyan Female employee was subjected to gender based violence at shelter Afrique, in the course of her work, almost two months ago and no action has been taken to date . Why hasnt the Government prosecuted or deported the perpetuator of gender based violence, one AlassaneBa? Is the Government committed to the convention?
